blogging tips

a while ago Adam Feldman posted about blogging tips to help new or would-be bloggers get going. as a few of my friends have recently started their own blogs I thought I'd finally get around to passing the link on!

I've started to do some of the things he suggests, particularly keeping some posts in draft form so that I have something to post when I get "the inevitable writer's block" which has helped me get more consistent in posting. This is something I was particularly bad at at first - people were coming back, I didn't post for ages, they stopped coming back and then I'd post a glut of stuff and no-one was left around reading it!! (better at it now apart from when I went on holiday and forgot to mention it - ooops! sorry again!)

anyway, hope the tips help!

glad they're helping you! i think i've exhaused my "writer's block" list as of late... i find that if i can spend about 1-2 hours of quality brainstorming time once a month, i have enough fodder to last me for 4 weeks. gotta get back to doing that...

Thanks for this Heather. I followed your link to Adam's page then followed soem of his links and found it all useful. Like you I think the idea of having some posts in draft form for times when you can't think of what to write would be a great.

They are good hints, though I'm not sure whether I mind if anyone else reads mine or not - a lot of the time it's a bit of a personal discipline of actually doing some thinking! Having said that, I guess what makes it more than a one-off is the interaction of the blogging community.
